Picture books are great for children who are ready to move on from sturdy board books, to more delicate pages, usually around 4 years of age. Bilingual picture books are an excellent way to expose young readers to new languages and cultures while also enhancing their language skills. By offering text in two languages, these books can help children acquire a second language and make the content accessible to readers who may not be fluent in one of the languages featured.
In this post, I've compiled a list of recommended bilingual picture books, with a focus on Chinese language resources, as my family is currently learning Mandarin at home. Right now it's actually all Chinese books, except one Vietnamese book. I would love to expand this list, so please comment below if you have a suggestion!
